Sending our collective light to the world
Like tiny ripples that merge to form great waves, combined human intent is worth more than the sum of its parts. A single individual can initiate worldwide improvement by emitting conscious frequencies of love, beauty, goodness, and wisdom. A group of people focusing their energy on sending out light to the planet can set the stage for positive global transformation.
All of us possess the ability to channel love energy, to heal, to be a conduit for white light, and to positively influence our fellow humans from afar. Yet one person can only do so much. Imagine if each of us took a few moments at the start of every day to send out energy from our hearts to so the world. Mother Earth would be quickly eased, and the infinitely beautiful place.
A twisting path
If you trek into the wilderness and look around with a careful gaze, you will see that the trees, flowers, and even the rocks have a tendency to flow: there is the arc of the branch that leads to the blossom, the smooth dip in a rock formation, the gnarled knot in a tree trunk, and the forking of shoots. As nature is overflowing with curves, corners, knots, and unexpected directions, so are our lives filled with unpredictable twists and turns. Enjoy and learn from the adventure. The lesson you can take from that is to avoid becoming attached to what ‘needs’ to happen and remain flexible as you continue on your journey. If you are determined to achieve certain goals, you will do so, no matter how many twists and turns you must travel.
Seeing your perfection
We are each born into this world with unique gifts. Within us is a glimmer of the divine, a light that can potentially make the world a more beautiful place. But in many that light lies dormant, snuffed out by fears and feelings of inadequacy. Yet when we undermine it by hiding our aptitudes and quashing our dreams, we deny ourselves and others a wealth of experiences. When you dare to share your light with the world, the beauty and perfection of your soul become clearly visible. You become a whole being – the literal embodiment of your vast potential.
Whether you are a wonderful dancer, a first-rate cook, a whiz with numbers, or a natural negotiator, you will come to understand that you do the world no favours when you hold yourself back.
If you have hidden your light for so long that it has shrunk to an ember, make a list of everything you do well, however impractical, silly, or seemingly inconsequential. Then ask yourself how you can positively utilise those abilities in your daily life. The gifts you were born with were not granted to you arbitrarily. While you may never discover what impact your light has had on others, you can be certain that when you embrace your talents and share them, you will spread illumination in the world.
Peeling away the layers
Trees need their protective bark to enable the delicate process of growth and renewal to unfold without threat. Likewise, we must have our boundaries and defences so that the more vulnerable parts of ourselves can safely heal and unfold. But our growth also depends upon our ability to soften, loosen, and discard boundaries and defences that we no longer need.
Unlike a tree, we must consciously decide when it is time to shed our bark and expand our boundaries so that we can move into our next ring of growth. Many spiritual teachers have suggested that our egos do not disappear so much as they become large enough to hold more than just our small sense of self; the boundary of self widens to contain people and beings other than just ‘me’. Each time we shed a layer of defensiveness or ease up on a boundary that we no longer need, we metaphorically become bigger people.
Sending love to your day
While our lives are busy and frequently replete with challenges, they are also rich with joy and experiences worth savouring. We can attract this natural bliss by starting each day with a message of love.
Each morning when you have cast off the fog of sleep, take several deep, grounding breaths and reaffirm the love you have for yourself. Speaking a nurturing, self-directed blessing aloud enables you to access and awaken the reservoir of tenderness in your spirit. Before you leave the comfortable warmth of your bed, be sure to tell the universe that you are eager and ready to receive the blessings it has set aside for you. Then as you prepare to meet the day, visualise yourself first saturated, and then surrounded, with a warm and soft protecting light. Gradually widen the circle of this illumination until you are able to send it ahead into your future.
If you are commuting to work, transmit love to the roads upon which you will drive, your fellow commuters, and your parking space. If you have colleagues who arrive at your workplace before you, send them good wishes. Likewise, a day spent being a parent or addressing household chores can benefit from the sentiment that precedes you. Sending love ahead to everyone you will meet and everything you will do can ensure that your day is suffused with grace.
A place for worries
There are times when our minds grow too full. Our heads may become so crowded with our to-do lists, worries, plans, and dreams that we do not have room to think. A surrender box allows us to let go of our concerns and desires so that the universe can take care of them for us. We write down what we want or need to happen and then place the note into a box. By doing so, we are taking action and letting the universe know that we need help and are willing to surrender our feelings. We give ourselves permission not to be concerned with a particular problem any longer and to trust that the universe is taking care of it.
You may even want to decorate your box and keep it in a special place. It is a sacred container for your worries and desires. By letting go of them and dropping them into your box, you are giving your burden over to a higher power. Once you do, you free your mind so that you can be fully present in each moment.
Home and land meditation
Just as we take care of our friends and families, our homes and Mother Earth take care of us.
Yet it is easy to take both of these wonderful sources of blessings for granted. Expressing the gratitude you feel toward your home and the earth for what each provides can help you stay conscious of where many of the gifts in your life come from. There is a simple and beautiful meditation you can perform to show your gratitude:
Is coconut oil good for your hair?
Begin by finding a quiet place where you can be alone. Sit comfortably and breathe deeply until you feel relaxed, and then read the following out loud:
Thank you, home, for allowing me to live within your walls. Thank you for giving me shelter, warmth, and security. Thank you for allowing me to live my life in your womb, for staying strong and sturdy, for supporting me, and for your beauty.
Thank you, earth, for the land that I live on and for allowing me to steward life with you. Thank you for allowing me to walk upon your soil, cultivate you, and live in partnership with you.
Thank you for supporting my home and my family.
Thank you, plants, minerals, and animals that dwell on the land that I steward. Thank you for allowing me to experience your beauty and share in the wonderment of life and for the honour of living with all of you on this earth. Thank you for the wisdom and joy you bring to humanity.
I honour you.
You can perform this meditation as often as you like and any time you feel particularly thankful for the many blessings that you have received. Each time you do, you will reaffirm and strengthen your connection with all that protects, supports, and sustains you.
